Scientific Projects and Grants
In IGEM RAS, 5 Scientific Schools headed by four Academicians - O.A. Bogatikov, V.I. Kovalenko, N.P. Laverov and I.D. Ryabchikov – are financed from grants of the President of Russian Federation aimed to support the leading scientific schools.
Grants of the President of Russian Federation aimed to support junior Russian scientists were offered in IGEM to 7 young Ph.D. people younger than 35.
The Institute participates in realization of:
Programs of Basic research from Presidium of RAS:
No. 15 – Development of basic grounds for creating a scientific distributed computer environment on the basis of GRID technology – 1 project, supervised by Academician O.A. Bogatikov.
No. 16 – Change of surrounding environment and climate: natural hazards – 4 projects supervised by Academician V.I. Kovalenko and Corr. Member RAS V.I. Velichkin.
- No. 17 – Basic problems of Oceanology: physics, geology, biology, ecology – 1 project supervised by Academician N.S. Bortnikov.
Programs of Division of Earth’ Sciences RAS:
- No. 2 – Basic problems of geology, formation environment and principles of prediction for conventional and new types of large-scale deposits of strategic types of mineral commodities – 9 projects.
- - No. 4 – Role of magmatism and fluids in formation of the Earth’ crust and mantle – 5 projects.
- No. 6 – Geodynamics and mechanisms of lithosphere deformation – 1 project.
- No. 7 – Experimental studies of endogenous processes – 3 projects.

Annually, the investigations upon 51-57 projects financially supported by the Russian Basic Research Foundation (RBRF) are carried out. The Foundation of promotion of national science regularly offers research grants to Institute staff members – leading scientists, young D.Sc. and Ph.D. , Ph.D. students. |
