Principal directions of scientific research - topics of postgraduate studies carried out in the Institute:
· Geology of mineral deposits of noble, non-ferrous, rare metals and rare-earth elements, diamonds, non-metallic (industrial) commodities.
· Petrology of magmatic, metamorphic and metasomatic rocks.
· General and genetic mineralogy, modern minerals- ore-formation, nanomineralogy.
· Physical geochemistry and geochemistry of ore-forming processes.
· Isotope geochemistry and geochronology.
· Radiogeology and radiogeoecology.
· Geoinformatics (as applied to geological-mineralogical sciences).
Supervision is carried out by high qualified personnel – Academicians, Corresponding Members of RAS,Doctors of Science with a large experience of teaching. During his studies a postgraduate student may use all laboratory facilities of the Institute.
